» Soccer Camp FAQs

Which session is best suited for my particular camper's needs?

All of our sessions are Elite and Equal, which means we place the same high standards into each session, and try to make it easy for families to find the best session(s) to meet their family’s summer schedule.  And, because our camps are big, yet still maintaining an incredible 7:1 player to coach ration, we can group players based on their age, friends, and abilities.  Thus providing a great soccer experience for everyone!

I have siblings of the same gender attending camp. Can they room together?

Great Question!  We will room siblings of the same gender together.  However, please keep in mind that this will mean one or both ofm them will not be in the same dorm suite (or possibly near) other members of theirr camp team.  We group the players assigned to a camp team close together in the dorm.

We have found that campers have an enhanced experience when they room with other campers their same age and on the same camp team.

Which session is the best camp for the skill level of my child?

We run each of the overnight sessions exactly alike. And, because we have such a large number of campers (yet keep a great camper to staff ratio), we can seperate groups by age and ability (especially after the coaches have had a chance to get an ititial evaluation of the campers in action). Likewise, even though we have girls and boys in the same session of camp, the groups are separated and trained separately by gender.

What is the Camper to Staff Ratio at the Texas A&M Soccer Camp?

It's the best in the nation - 7:1. And, the coaches are outstanding! Coach G and a group of top college, ODP, club, and High School coaches from across Texas, the USA, and abroad. Whereas many camps have campers taught by college players, Texas A&M Soccer Campers have professional head coaches working with them. Aggie players assist the head coaches, demonstrate all of the exercises, and help the campers in the dorm and to/from the field.

How can I insure that my child will get the roommate he/she desires?

To insure that campers get to room with specific roommates, we strongly suggest that both campers indicate each other as a roommate preference on the application.

What is Callaway House ( the private dorm the campers and staff live in) Like?

It's Awesome! There is a swimming pool, mini theater, game room, and cafeteria within the Callaway House, and each room has it's own refrigerator. The soccer fields are right across the street, so there is no need for bussing campers around town (like many other camps across America). This is plainly not the kind of dorm that Mom or Dad stayed in while they were in college!

Do I really have to get my physician to sign a medical report for my child to participate in Camp?

Yes. The Texas A&M Soccer Camp's curriculum is physically demanding and we want to insure that all of the campers are physically able to participate without placing themselves in serious medical danger. We believe so strongly in looking out for the welfare of the camper that we won't allow players to participate in any activities if they have not turned in their medical and insurance waiver prior to the start of Camp. It is OK to send in a copy of your school's medical form if it is less than 1 year old and has been signed by your physician. Sorry for any inconvenience, but we know it's the right thing to do.

What airlines fly to College Station and can my child be picked up at the airport?

American flies in and out of College Station via DFW or United in and out of Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport. If you will provide us with your child's flight schedule, we will pick him/her up at the airport on the first day of camp and shuttle him/her back to the College Station airport following the last training session on the last day of camp.
